Mormon History, Mar 2, 1847

[Hosea Stout Diary] Tuesday March 2nd 1847. Was at home untill one oclock and then went with my wife to the council house to our police party. It was an uncomly beautiful clear warm and pleasant day
We had the Police, Twelve & Band present, and enjoyed ourselves uncommonly will by dancing, talking, eating sweet cakes &c, and some little preaching and about had the old Police dance called "President Marks return to Mormonism" which I may describe some time. I preached a loud sermon on real Mormonism
About Eleven oclock P. M. my wife not being very well came home, and I returned to the party again and tarried three oclock A. M. when we broke up. And we all came home[.] It is almost unnecessary to say that the Twelve seemed to enjoy themselves well.
