Mormon History, Saturday, Mar 6, 1847.

[Apostle Willard Richards Journal] Winter Quarters. Northwest wind. About 9 a.m. the First Division met at council house. President Young and Kimball attended funeral of Brother NeffÂ's son. President Young preached and they came into council about 12. Dr. [Richards] went into council house about 1 p.m., soon after opening and Kimball came in. Benson and Woodruff present. Benson spoke of the principle to remove brethren to the mountains this summer and all others remain here. Dr. spoke of the health of Winter Quarters, etc. President Young said all would do as they were counseled, and invited all to go to work on the Mill Dam. About 4, Young and Richards walked up to the dam. Benson and Woodruff were at work, and about 50 others. President and Dr. visited the mill and returned home about 5. Dr. set his well curb.
About 7, seventies conference in the council house. President Young, Dr., and Benson were present. Jonathan T. Packer was called on for praying, etc., and laid over till next meeting. Adjourned about 9:30. Northwest wind, freezing hard, some rain last night.
