Mormon History, Monday, Mar 8, 1847.

[Apostle Willard Richards Journal] Severe frost. Thermometer reported 13 degrees below freezing about quarter before 12. Presidents Young, Kimball, Richards, and Benson came in the office with three others. Heard report that the Nigger Indian Charley was holding private meetings over the river, first entering in a covenant of secrecy.
[At] 1 oÂ'clock, O. Pratt and G. A. Smith joined the company. O. Pratt reported thermometer 7 degrees above zero, 9 a.m. President left [at] 10 minutes to 3. About quarter to 5 he returned again, also E. T. Benson and Willard Richards. About 5, President Young came in the office and E. T. Benson gave him some money which he had borrowed of Edward Hunter. About 7, the First Division of emigration officers met at council house (see minutes).
