[Apostle Willard Richards Journal] Mt. Pisgah. Cloudy. President Young, Kimball, P. and O. Pratt, George A. Smith, and A. Lyman, John Smith, Brother Sherwood and 3 others, about 9 a.m., crossed the river and prairie, a creek and a second creek and followed it to the river, crossed, and returned back about 3 p.m. About 15 [?], found a rough country, but healthy, no swamp or rattlesnakes, but little timber. Several families arrived from Nauvoo, in all about 18 teams within 3 or 4 days. The brethren were busy in camp repairing wagons, preparing to saw boards, wood plows, etc. Dr. Richards put a frame on a fish net and went fishing, wrote history, etc. Two Pottawatamie Indians come into camp after a stray horse, which the brethren had taken up on the prairie.
