[Apostle Willard Richards Journal] Hickory Thunder. Wind northwest. Cloudy till 9 a.m., then clear. All hands were engaged in drying clothes, etc., etc., till noon, when George Allen, A. Dunham, and 1 more, went after a bee tree George found 2 weeks before. Ground very wet. Day very drying. 3:20 minutes p.m., Alpheus Haws returned from mill after an absence of 13 days. [In the afternoon] p.m., Captain Spencer and company come into camp by doubling teams, 4 miles and 4 hours. The brethren come in and could not find the bee tree, and Captain Rockwood returned with them to the timber and got about 2 lbs. honey. Joseph Fletcher and John Hughes came into camp and soon there were 18 wagons on the next divide from Nauvoo nearly opposite this, and that Shadrach Roundy lost his letter of instructions to the Saints. President Young did not travel, but built a bridge where he was called PeterÂ's Bridge.
