Mormon History, Nov 9, 1847

[Hosea Stout Diary] Tuesday Nov 9th 1847. Went to the Council at ten. Elias Gardner was appointed Collector & Assessor pro tem for the police with orders to proceed forth to assess and Collect another tax. Council then adjourned one hour and met accordingly when general matters were taken up and discussed at large.
The subject of Hydes policy the last season then the subject of vacating Winter Quarters & settling the East side of the river &c discussed & finally agreed to as the Government was unwilling for us to remain here any longer.
