Mormon History, Nov 8, 1847

[Hosea Stout Diary] Monday Nov 8th 1847. Snowy morning. Went around town considerable. The Omahas passed through today going North[.] Wm Kimball recovered a horse from them which they had stolen.
The council met at H. S. Eldreges to act on the case of a collector again but thepolice still objecting to Horace, there was nothing done except to adjourn till tomorrow at 8 A. M. While at council I recieved orders from the Council of the Twelve to drive out & keep out all the indians which were all the time infesting this place & I being busy at this time sent L. H. Calkins to execute the same.
The Omahas as they passed through here would linger around town begging & stealing all they could get[.] They were very troublesome
