[Hosea Stout Diary] Wed. Nov. 10th 1847. Went to another Council at the Council House. Had up a variety of subjects[.] That of vacating this place was had again & agreed to again. The President spoke at length on the subjects of the Merchants stating over the many articles we would need. The merchants Mudge & Woolley were present & agreed to supply us with all we needed
Adjourne an hour and met accordingly.
A report was heard from the Oneida Indians who were very friendly to us and desired us to furnish them with all their machanicks Farmers School teachers missionaries &c as they had the right to chooseall whom the Government employed for them & we were their choice &c[.] Much was said on the subject & Pres A. Cutler who was well acquainted with them was appointed to take charge of the whole affair.
