[Minutes, Quorum of Twelve] Tuesday 23 Nov[ember]. 1847
Meeting of the Twelve & Presidents of Seventies in Council House.-Present[:] Pres[iden]ts.
[Brigham] Young, [Heber C.] Kimball, [Wilford] Woodruff, [Willard] Richards, [Ezra T.] Benson, [George A.] Smith, Joseph Young, A[lbert]. P. Rockwood, B[enjamin]. L. Clapp-Zera Pulzipher-
W[illiam W]. Phelps stated his grievance about his having to pay his stray tax-
Rob[er]t. Campbell read the minutes of ordination of [the] First Seven Pres[iden]ts. of 70s. in Kirtland [Ohio]-& a short conversation followed on the same subject. 20 min[utes] past 11-Aaron Johnson stated near 5 y[ea]rs-W[illiam]. Marks gave me a deed of the Rigdon House in Kirtland-I have the Warrantee Deed now. Horace Eldridge sued J. L. Forgens for a debt-Marks Garnishee-who gave Forgens power of Att[orne]y to collect debt from Johnson-Marks ack[nowledge]d. bef[ore]. 5 wit[nesse]s. that Johnson went legal in all things-
Marks left an agent who asked Johnson for the debt all the Winter-[T]his Spring, [he] sent for a quit claim deed-I councilled with bro Hyde who thought it was a house by Babbitt-J. S. Fulmer says the Church have the title in themselves & independent of Marks. McBride will buy the property & can punish Marks-
B. Y.[:] That house ought to fetch [$]800 or [$]1000-[I]t is best to sell it & get what you can.
H. C. Kimball[:] "I motion that bro Johnson sell it, do the best he can, & keep the property from apostatizing"-E. T. Benson sec[onde]d. [C]arried. -70s-

Aa[ron] Johnson-W[illia]m Marks gave me a deed of the Ridgon house in Kirtland [but] did not tell me why he gave it [to] me, [and I] have it yet, it is recorded.
H S Eldridge sued Hodges for a just debt-[T]he Mr Mark was Tarnishee & not appearing-
[I]t went ag[ains]t. hims[elf] as Tarnishee-Marks gave Torges a power of attorney to sue me. & Marks acknowledged I went legally (after looking over the law regulating attachs) a letter from Trustees wanting me to give Pres[iden]t. Marks a quit claim deed. O[rson] Hyde thought it was a hoax in A[lmon] W Babbit, [but] afterwards they found out they could see without Marks.
Voted [that] Aaron Johnson sell it. & do the best you can, & see that the avails dont get to apostatize-Aaron cook go. Hyrum H Blackwell, go. Wilkeson, Hewitt, Gilbert, Belnap go if just this Winter-Little John Utley go. James H Glines, Gilbert Morse, J Pack, if a little while. There is no compulsion, says B. Y., to those Seventies to go. O[rson] P[ratt] came in. Jacob Frazier go at the suggestion of H C K. Albert Merrill go-B. Y. requested the Pres[iden]ts. of 70s to nominate & they would als[o] nominate-Voted James Clayton.
Seventies send their Recorder home. Acc[oun]ts of their progress, also Newspapers about Mormonism.
