[Brigham Young Discourse] President Brigham Young stood up and spoke of that we were forgetting the giver of our blessings because our mind were together taken up by or troubles. He said we had now experienced the old sayings of the Prophet, that the saints had to come up through great tribulation, for to get fruit we must sow. Our body and the whole of us is the Lords, we have not a principle to boast of as our own but it is given us from Him through His grace. Now is the time to prove to be the Lords, or else go into the world or to hell like other fools. Also that we have forgotten our endowment. Our confusion is produced by the power of the enemy. We will go from our enemies and then I know the word of Nephi will come to pass. Can we endure? I know the temptations in the camp, that we have forgotten the signs and tokens of the priesthood is a decree of the Lord. He said I want you to consider what you are doing and what you are driven to. One thing I want to tell you, that this people will continue as they have done, their own prayers will bring a curse upon them and they will be blown up and scattered. He told them that he was going to command the people from this time because of their slothfulness, and whatsoever then went after their own notion would be accursed in the name of the Lord. They shall not have control over the authority in such a mean way as they have done. And if they continue the first they will know they will have a slap of revelation for I am assure, I am assure that a scourge will come upon you worse than you ever thought of if you don't cease from those mean feeling, and you will go to the devil. Why not do what you know that's got to be done without being commanded. The authority is to rule, if not this Church shall be blown up, and this people must be ruled by rash words. -- Mount Pisgah, Iowa [Heber C.
