The President signed the letter to Hyde, Pratt and Taylor between 9 and 10 a.m. Dr. [Richards] arose about noon, went out and returned about 3. President Young called with John D. Lee about 7, saying he was going to Bishop SmootÂ's. John D. Lee and Samuel Russell returned from St. Joseph this day, also a many teams. Large quantities of wood drawing across the river, the ice being very strong.
