[Hosea Stout Diary] Friday January 22nd 1847. There was a strong south wind all day[.] We had to let down the tent, or it would have blown to pieces. It was the strongest S. wind which has been since I have been here, but at 8 oclock P. M. it turned to North again cold as ever.
Allen had a chill today. I was weak but could go out[.] To day I issued an order on the Treasurer for 45- dollars & 40 cent in cash for the police[.] It was a draw of ten per cent on the total sum of their services up to this time
I drew 5. dollars & 80 cents & it was truly a "lift" to me.fixed guard as usual. Bills came home with my team today
