Mormon History, Feb 14, 1849

[Hosea Stout Diary] Wednesday Feb 14th 1849. Went in Company with T. Lewis to the mountain to cut cedar wood. The snow on the mountains was soft & thawing but the benchland in the Valley dry & hard[.] Strange to me for the snow t melt on the mountains sooner than in the Valley. Warm day. Thawed mud in the Fort.
