[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph Sr., released from prison, joins his family at Waterloo. (If he was arrested in early October, he should have been released in early November after serving a thirty-day sentence. Either Lucy has misremembered the date of the arrest, the term of imprisonment, or the date of his release.) (2)

[Joseph Smith] Fayette, New York. Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 35, a revelation calling Sidney Rigdon to be the Prophets scribe for the translation of the Bible. (4)

D&C 37 (Canandaigua): Joseph to stop translating now until he goes to Ohio "because of the enemy." Strengthen the church in Colesville. In time they should gather in Ohio "against the time that my servant Oliver shall return unto them." Date by William E. McLellin (3)
