Philo Dibble (a Kirtland land dealer) baptized by Parley P. Pratt. Joseph Smith living on Frederick G. Williams' farm which was $400 in debt and in danger of reverting to the prior owner; Joseph Coe was required to raise the money but couldn't so Dibble sold some of his 1200 acres for $1.75 per acre and paid Joseph Smith the $400 [per Philo Dibble]. [Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph Jr., in Waterloo, receives D&C 32, instructing Parley P. Pratt, Ziba Peterson, Oliver Cowdery, and Peter Whitmer to go on a mission to Native Americans on the Missouri frontier. Before the month's end, they are preaching at Kirtland, Ohio, with notable success. Soon after the missionaries departure, Samuel moves Lucy and the younger children (Joseph Sr. is still in jail) to Waterloo, New York. (2)
