[John Taylor] Parents and remainder of family emigrate to Toronto, Canada, leaving him in England to settle family business. (1)

[Polygamy] Polygamy against the law
Polygamy is against the law in New York ( by 1830 ) , Ohio ( by 1830 ), Illinois ( 1833 ) and Missouri ( by 1838 ) - all states where the Mormons lived and practiced polygamy. Polygamy was illegal from 1862 onward in Utah and other US territories, as well as being illegal in Canada and Mexico when the Mormons were marrying plural wives there (2)

[U.S. Marriage History] Right of married woman to own property in her own name (instead of all property being owned exclusively by the husband) in Mississippi. (3)

[Whitney, Newel Kimball] Associated with Sidney Rigdon in Campbellite movement before 1830. (4)

Sidney Rigdon -- primary scribal author for this period. Writings used in assembling The History of the Church (often cited as HC) (originally entitled History of Joseph Smith; first published under the title History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; nicknamed Documentary History of the Church or DHC) (5)

Joseph Smith Sr. tells Fayette Lapham and Jacob Ramsdell that Joseph Smith saw, in a dream, a large and tall man in ancient clothing that was covered in blood that told him of the treasure and that a spirit had been murdered on the spot to guard the treasure. On one of the attempts, Smith was told he wasn't punctual and to return in one year with Alvin. (8)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Palmyra citizens agree not to purchase copies of Book of Mormon. (9)

[Joseph Smith] An agreement between Joseph Sr. and Martin Harris on selling the Book of Mormon is witnessed by Oliver Cowdery. [MANCHESTER,] (10)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph Jr. returns to Manchester to force Cole to stop publishing extracts from the Book of Mormon. (11)

[Wight, Lyman] Moved to Kirtland February 1830. (4)

-- 1830 Mar.-May
[Oliver Cowdery] Between mid-Mar. and mid-June Sidney Rigdon's whereabouts were unaccounted for. In April 1844 Rigdon gave a speech in Nauvoo in which he made reference to the events of this period as though he was in NY at the trime the Church of Christ was founded. (12)
