[Apostle Willard Richards Journal] Hickory Grove Encampment. Yesterday morning wind east, incessant rain through the night. Dr. Richard's wagon came in this forenoon with double teams. President Young's wagon was brought in by 8 yoke of oxen. Traveling exceedingly bad. Very little corn in camp and none to be had in the neighborhood. About 11 a.m., the wind changed northwest. Occasional showers through the day. President Young rode down to the creek in search of a drier campground, returned after dinner and decided to stay where we were. He was also engaged in the forepart of the day in cutting wood and fixing about his tent. In the evening clouds broke away and moon shone.
