Mormon History, Tuesday, Apr 14, 1846.

[Apostle Willard Richards Journal] Locust Creek Encampment, Middle Fork. Morning clear and pleasant, wind northwest. About 9 a.m., Dr. Richards the historian, walked up to the encampment on the prairie; about the same time Brother Charles Decker arrived in camp from Nauvoo with a mail of about 30 letters, among which was a letter from Elder O. Hyde bearing date April 6, 1846, to President Young. Between the hours of 12 noon and 2 p.m. the second [and] fourth company arrived and passed on to the encampment on the edge of the prairie. About 1 p.m. the historian returned to his tent, and about 2 p.m. President Young, Heber C. Kimball, John Taylor, Bishop Whitney, Samuel Bent, J. M. Grant, and others met in the post office and heard several letters read from Nauvoo and chatted on various subjects till about 3 p.m.
William Steel, third captain, third 50 and third 100, and Robert Owens third 10, fifth 50, third 100, received honorable discharge to return to Nauvoo. Signed by C. C. Rich, Captain the Oakley Clerk.
