Mormon History, Apr 6, 1847

[Hosea Stout Diary] Tuesday April 6th 1847. Clear Cool morning Wind still north[.] Today was a special conference which commenced at ten oclock.
The first business was to try the standing of the different authorities as was customary at conferences. The Twelve was passed before the conference and received unanimously except Lyman Wight, whose case was not handled.
The first Presidents of the Seventies were next unanimously received[.] Then the High Council except Samuel Russel, who was dropt because he was one of the Seventies and Phineas Richards put in his place. Bishop Whitney was then received again and a vote of thanks for what he has done (a sarcasm)
President Young spoke at some length very edifying and after making some arraingements to fit out some of the pioneers, the conference adjourned sine die. I spent the remainder of the day about as usual.
