Mormon History, Apr 10, 1847

[Hosea Stout Diary] Saturday April the 10th 1847. Clear, fine, warm day. I was around as usual.
This evening there was a police meeting at my house. It was to find out the feeling of the police about doing [?] now the Twelve were gone for we had not recieved more than half our pay for what we had done and there was no provisions made to pay us any thing more, and it appeared that we were like to have to do duty all summer for nothing
It is time also for us to know what we have to depend on in relation to our agriculturial pursuts for we will have to make some arraingements for a crop. We concluded that it would be best have the matter brought up by the council tomorrow evening and have a definite decision for us to depend on. We broke up about 9 oclock P. M.
