[Hosea Stout Diary] Monday April 12th 1847. Beautiful day. Traded my shot gun for a fine highly finished rifle[.] Around as usual and in the evening notified the council to meet at S. Russells house. It was to take the subject of the police into consideration.
It was decided to keep up the police and have another tax levied to pay them. It was to be levied on the same principals as the other tax was. I came home about Eleven oclock at night. Twelve came back today.
