Mormon History, Apr 17, 1847

[Hosea Stout Diary] Saturday April 17th 1847. Clear & very cold & windy. I spent the fore noon & home and in town. Saw some who had been to the pioneer came & returned & it appears they are about 75 miles now.
In the after noon I hunted for my cow. Had a long walk to no purpose[.] Thought I saw some Omahas driving away some of our cattle.
Came back and arrainged the guard, & had to put out two men who had never before been called on to do police duty.
