Mormon History, Mar 5, 1846. Thursday.

[William Clayton Journal] Proceeded on our journey. Crossed the Des moines river at Bonaparte and afterwards had a very bad road up the bluff for several miles which detained us [un]til late in the afternoon. We stopped awhile to feed the band teams inasmuch as they had none this morning. We then started and went to the next camping ground, making the days journey about sixteen miles.
