Mormon History, Mar 2, 1846

[Hosea Stout Diary] It was then councilled for us to take jobs of work when we could to get something to live upon. It was also decided here to sent a company of men on to the Platte country to take jobs of work and also to lay up grain for the camp while it was moving on.After Council Capt C. Allen took a job of making 2,000 nails and I sent Capt Morgan Phelps to do it with his men and also detailed O. M. Allen with his company to set up and burn a coal pit for the camp. Also sent a number of men out to look out for & take jobs of work.
Just after council (about one) Bishop Miller, O. Pratt and others came into camp. All was said to be made right on the part of Miller and a good understanding entered into and he complied with the requisitions of the council.
This evening Br Lee told me that the course which I took at Sugar Creek with G. Miller when he forced the guard was approved by the President. No more today.
