[Nauvoo Temple] Brigham Young and William Weeks signed a certificate officially appointing Truman O. Angel to be Weeks' successor as superintendent over finishing the temple according to the plans and designs given by Weeks to Angel. Soon after this Williams Weeks left Nauvoo. Brigham Young wanted William Weeks to be with the vanguard of pioneers, because he wanted him "to dig deep and the lay the foundation of the Temple for [Brigham Young] intend[ed] by the help of the brethren to build a Temple unto the Lord just as soon as the Saints by a united effort can complete it."
