[Hosea Stout Diary] August the 1st F. To day I had several of the police to wit Clark, Pace, Glines, Sabin, A. J. Stout to come & dig at my cellar untill noon and then they went home and at evening I met the police and came home by Warthans and gave him a lesson on his duty, got some meat & came home at 9 oc
