[Patriarchal Blessings] Patriarchal Blessing of Andrew Hall given by William Smith [no date, probably ]
The Patriarchal blessing of Andrew Hall son of Ebenezer and Eleanor Hall born in Belmont Waldo County Maine Jany 4th 1817
Beloved brother in the name of Jesus Christ I lay my hands upon your head and confer upon you a father[']s blessing, a blessing that shall prove a comfort to thee and thy family friends and conexions [connections] after thee who shall be called thy blood relatives, this blessing is purely Patriarchal and after the holy order of God given by the Patriarch over the whole church according to the authority regulating the Patriarchal office in the church from days of old by legal descent, thou art one of the sons of Ephraim and a descendant of Abraham and numbered among his chosen people the elect according to the purpose of God from before the foundation of the world thy name Shall be named upon many and of thine own posterity or seed to whom this Priestho
od belongs by legal and proper descent because thou art of the Royal stock and thy progenitors administered before the altar of the Lord in the tabernacle of David and the temple that was built by Solomon
these days of thine experience are the begin[n]ing of days of knowledge and the time of enduements [endowments] wherein washings and anointings are necessary to fulfil all the commandments of God thou shalt realize in thy future life the blessings of the holy Priesthood upon thine head and no enemy shall despoil thee of thy crown or deprive thee of thine exaltation and if thou wilt continue diligent in the commandments of God as thou hast in times past up to this present time thou shalt realize greater blessings and the blessings of Abraham with all the holy Prophets I seal upon thy head for thou hast seen days of trouble because of enemies who sought in secret to destroy thee and because of temptations that have arisen for the Devil has sought with mighty power to overthr
ow thee in the days of thy innocence and in the times of thy great desire for knowledge but because of thy faithfulness thou hast overcome and obtained a Victory thy sins are forgiven thee,
although in secret thy meditations are deep and not known unto men for many things have troubled thee and yet thy wisdom has governed and controlled thy conduct and thy firmness and fortitude has saved thee from destruction that lurked in secret the desires of thy heart shall be more fully realized when the temple of God is completed and then thou shalt more perfectly realize the benefit of the prayers of thy friends and those who are of thine own household who with faithfulness and fidelity have sought thy Salvation and still do love thee and thy law is written upon their hearts they shall arm thee with faithfulness and be stars in thy crown of glory and be made partakers of this Priesthood and none shall take their place. thy days are numbered and yet if faithful shall be lengthened ou
t and when christ comes with all his holy Angels thou shalt appear with him and have thine own the power of this blessing that belongs to the Priesthood of Melchisedec I confer upon thine head with all the blessings of eternal salvation and an inheritance that is uncorrupted and undefiled and that fadeth not away and none shall take thy crown in the name of Jesus Christ Even so Amen.
