City of Joseph July 16th 1845. A blessing by Wm Smith Patriarch in favor of Ann B Peterson deceased daughter of Edward and Mary Dennis born Monmouth Co New Jersey April 1818 On the head of Mary ann Peterson sitting as proxy daughter of William C & Elizabeth Patten born Lancaster Co Pen[n]sylvania 23d July 1822
Dear Sister I lay my hands upon your head in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazereth to seal upon you a blessing by proxy for her who is dead yet whose Spirit lives in heaven above where God and Christ is for it was her labor in her lifetime to live and die a Saint, and with faithfulness in the midst of sorrow affliction and tears of grief, did she toil to obtain Salvation and with great anxiety of Soul did she desire the Salvation of her own, and none of her labors shall be lost, for as one of the bright stars in the firmament
she is now made to shine in the kingdom of heaven and as an Angel of peace she is now ministering to those who shall be heirs of Salvation and to her has been given the Angel and guardian care of her Companion on earth and all his household, and she watches over them by night and day, she is counted worthy in the midst of the hosts of heaven, and her Spirits faint not
she was a daughter of Abraham and of the household of faith she was also of the household of Joseph and of the Royal blood, her name shall not be forgotten, but with fond remembrance shall it be cherished in the hearts of many: down to many generations even for ever and ever and to her shall be given the honored title of Mother in Israel, and thousands shall assemble round her and call her blessed but the fulness of her Salvation cannot be made perfect until her companion is with her & those who are of his kingdom for until kindred Spirits are gathered up: and are united in the celestial kingdom as one her S
alvation will be like the dimning glory of the Stars or Moon that borrows its light from the Sun, but in patience her Spirit waiteth the tr[i]umph of God in the Resurrection morn then shall she come forth and receive her crown, to meet all her father[']s house and they of her own household resurrected to a life that is new and that is immortal with a glorious exaltation at the right hand of God, all of which as a blessing of this Spiritual kingdom I seal upon her head with a life that shall never end a Salvation that is made perfect and that is after the power of an endless life and it shall come to pass every whit for the God of heaven hath spoken it confirmed upon thee dear Sister according to the holy order of God acting as Representative for her whose Spirit has now gone in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
