Mormon History, Dec 29, 1848

[Hosea Stout Diary] Friday Decr 29th 1848. Good pleasant weather. Went to the office awhile[.] The Clerks were writing off the Bills & the President signing them
I suppose that we here, are like our brethren at the Bluff Whigs with this advantage that we have got not only over them but also the Whigs in the States[.] We have now got a National Band [Bank] and they cannot establish one because the Demecratic Presidents always vetoes it.
