[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph Jr. receives a revelation at Hiram, Ohio, for Samuel Smith and William E. McLellin to serve a mission. (1)

[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 66. William E. McLellin (h) met Joseph at the conference in Orange a few days earlier (Minutes of October 25-26, 1831) and went home with him that day. Joseph received this revelation for William a few days later. He is to take Samuel H. Smith with him on a mission to the East.
William E. McLellin journal gives the October 29 date; heading: This day the Lord condecended to hear my prayr and give me a revelation of his will, through his prophet or seer (Joseph) -And these are the words which I wrote from his mouth, saying,

Church meeting at John Johnson's. William E. McLellin to preach. "Here was Brothers John, Sidney, Oliver and Joseph and it did not seem to me as if I could instruct them or even entertain the Congregation; but with confidence alone in Enoch's God I arose and addressed them about one hour and a half. And it was not I but the spirit and power of God which was in me and it did seem to me before I finished as though it was not I or that I had got into another region where all was light & glory." (3)

D&C 65 (Hiram): keys of the kingdom committed to men; gospel to roll forth as the stone cut out of the mountain without hands; Son of Man to return in glory; kingdom of God goes forth that the kingdom of heaven may come. (3)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. Shortly after Sidney Rigdon baptized Orson Hyde, Joseph Smith confirmed Orson and ordained him an elder in the Church. (4)

[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 65. Keys of the kingdom are committed unto men on earth that gospel may roll forth, fill the earth (Daniel 2:34-45). Prepare for coming of the Lord. (2)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Orson Hyde is baptized at Kirtland, Ohio, by Sidney Rigdon. (1)

-- During 1831 Oct.
[Joseph Smith] A revelation to William E. McLellin warns: "Forsake all unrighteousness. Commit not adulterya temptation with which thou has been troubled." While on a mission in 1832, newly remarried McLellin "came to the house of a certain harlot [and] concluded to tarry many days," for which he would be excommunicated in Dec. 1832 and rebaptized in 1833 (then became a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles in 1835). [Gause, Jesse] Located in Shaker community in Cleveland, Ohio, area by October 1831. (9)
