Revelation is received directing the church to organize presidencies over each quorum in the priesthood (D&C 107:60-92, 99-100). (1)

D&C 69 (Hiram): Oliver Cowdery and John Whitmer to carry revelations and funds to Zion. (2)

D&C 70: Those in charge of printing the commandments are worthy of their hire; members are to be temporally equal. (2)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 70, a revelation in which the Lord appointed stewards to have the revelations published as the Book of Commandments. (3)

[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 69. Oliver to accompany John Whitmer to Zion with commandments and money. John to work on church history there.

[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 70. Joseph Smith, Martin Harris, Oliver Cowdery, John Whitmer, Sidney Rigdon, and W. W. Phelps are stewards of the revelations and commandments , are to be paid from book sales. Spiritual leaders worthy of hire. Be equal in temporal things.

Sidney writes to Bishop Partridge's counselors, John Corrill and Isaac Morley, that the bishop has "insulted the Lord's prophet in particular & assumed authority over him in open violation of the Laws of God." (2)

On a fund-raising mission with Reynolds Cahoon, David Whitmer seals the Shalersville branch "up unto Eternial life." (2)

-- Nov 16, 1831
William E. McLellin and Samuel H. Smith leave Joseph's home on their mission. 1831 Journey of Hyrum and William McLellin (2)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. After Oliver Cowdery and John Whitmer left for Missouri with the compiled revelations and commandments, Joseph Smith resumed his inspired translation of the scriptures with Sidney Rigdon as his scribe. (3)

Ezra Booth letter #6 published: Independence was selected for proximity to Indians, who are to be converted. But they are not interested. Laying of the temple cornerstone is a disappointment. An expensive trip of little value. Joseph announces great work to do in Kirtland, so gathering to Missouri no longer a high priority. Ezra Booth Letters (4-6) (2)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Oliver Cowdery and John Whitmer take the revelations to Missouri for printing. (5)
