Mormon History, Wednesday, Mar 31, 1847.

[Apostle Willard Richards Journal] Dull, cloudy morning, light wind from south. E. T. Benson came in office about 10 and wrote a letter. Dr. [Richards] arose about 10. T. B. [Bullock] went to J. A. Stratton, recently arrived from St. Louis, and received a mail of 23 letters. Made up a mail of six letters to the U.S. Post Office and sent to the office of John Scott, with a request to bring all letters and papers to camp that he could get. President B. Young, C. C. Rich, and others in the office.
President Young afterwards had read four letters [which] came to him by Brother Stratton. At dusk, the presidents of divisions and captains of companies met in the council house. After a deal of explotoration[?], President Young neatly and prettily rebuked their selfish principles and gave them good advice, if the brethren will only obey it. After council, the Band promenaded the city, played several lively airs opposite the Dr.Â's office, while Presidents Young, Kimball, Richards, Woodruff, Benson, and C. C. Rich, N. K. Whitney, Ezra Chase, and William Kay adjourned to the Dr.Â's office. At 10:30 p.m., W. W. Phelps was sent for, came in. The four letters to President Young were again read. Also, a letter from Elder Hyde and another letter from Elder John Taylor in England. Afterwards, W. W. Phelps brought forth his desires about a printing press. Voted that Brother Phelps go and get it. Council dismissed at 20 minutes to 12.
Patty Sessions delivered Sarah Huston, wife of Parley P. Pratt, of a daughter named Julia, born 1st April, 4 oÂ'clock a.m.
