[Brigham Young Sermon] The presidents of the emigrating divisions, captains of companies, and the pioneers met in the council house. Twenty five pioneers reported themselves ready to start on their western journey; thirty two more re- ported themselves ready to start within two days. I requested those who were ready to start, to assist in removing some families up to the farm (20 miles north) and notified those who desired to start on the pioneer journey to do so in the morning. -- Winter Quarters, Nebraska [Manuscript History of Brigham Young, 1847- 1850.
