[Brigham Young Sermon] Pres. Young then motioned that we raise a fund to bring the poor to this place. That there be a committee of five appointed to raise funds to send back to gather up the poor'- Pres. Young moved that Elder Charles C. Rich go on a mission to Western California, and assist Elder Amasa Lyman in the duties of his office; to succeed Elder Lyman when he returns here; to receive tithings and donations on behalf of the church; and to perform all other duties as an Apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints'-The Twelve dictate in all the world, five of them may council together, and send Elders where they please'- Pres.
