[Hosea Stout Diary] Thurs Apl 6th 1848. Today went to Conference with a large company of the Police[.] We went in two waggons.
We were well armed and prepared to meet those threats that were hove out against the Presidency. We arrived at the Tabernacle at Eleven a.m. & found the Brethren there awake to the same thing & were glad to see us comewhile here we kept close guard & a sharp look out. But no opposition manifested itself.
After meeting was out several of the police & myself were around with Prests Young Kimball & Hyde untill near mid night when they put up at a Br Kimballs & we went to Daniel Millers where several of the police were & staid till morning.
Miller treated us very kindly and entertained some seven or eight during our stay at Conference. I had the head ache all day.
