[Hosea Stout Diary] Sat Apl 1st 1848. The Pawnees left today. Council metadvise the Brethren to settle on the North of the Pottawattie tract to anticipated company from Ohio who were going to settle there.
Before Council rose a large Company about 80 pawnees from Bel-vue came in town with a letter from their agent desiring us to gave them some provision<They had been there to enquire of Miller the cause why so many of their tribe had been so inhumanly massacred at Fort Mann[.] Some of them were good looking men. They put up in a school house and were very troublesome.
