Mormon History, Apr 08, 1848

At a conference held in the log tabernacle at Miller's Hollow on the east side of the Missouri River, the settlement is renamed Kanesville in honor of Colonel Thomas L. Kane, a friend to the Mormons. The name is later changed to Council Bluffs, Iowa.
