[Hosea Stout Diary] Wed Feb. 2nd 1848. Engaged with police matters & B. Coveys case[.] It is now plainly manifest that he is guilty of seducing two girls not over twelve years of age which was reported to the president.
Had a police meeting at Cox Shop at dark on the subject of the publick arms. Decided for each policeman to put in order five guns. They also agreed to allow Allen 50 cents pr day for keeping the stray pen to Nov and 25 cents to Jan.
