Mormon History, Feb 7, 1848

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] 7th I spent most of the day reading. I read A pamphlet called the voice of truth, containing the Prophet Joseph Smith views of the powers & policy of the government of the United States, And correspondence with Gen James Arlington Bennett, Appeal to the green mountain Boys, Correspondence with John C. Calhoon, and Henry Clay, A friendly hint to Missouri, And an interesting sermon from President Smith. Those letters & writings are of much interest & show the spirit of the times & the mighty rebuke of wicked men by that great, good, & wise Prophet Joseph. I was much edifyed in reading it. I spent the evening in reading the book of Jasher & was edifyed with that.
Br Benbow & myself laid hands upon a sick youth.
