Mormon History, Jan 19, 1846

[Hosea Stout Diary] Monday Jany 19th 1846. Met the guard as usual and put them under Capt Scott who rode out with them & I remained with Hunter & some others at the Temple untill ten and then met the council of fifty as on last MondayIt was there decided among other things that the Capt of the different emegrating companies should arrainge & prepare as many of their men to Start for the West and leave their families as could with [out] leaving them to sufferAt three met the guard again and rode down the river regulated the guard for the night and delivered a Speech to them on the nature and office of their calling and then dismissed them and came home and then went to the Temple and met the capt of my emegrating company on some business & about Eleven oclock came home.
