Joseph Smith marriage to Hannah Ells age 29, (4 March 1813 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England - 1844 in Nauvoo, Illinois) (1)

Joseph Smith marriage to Melissa Lott Sep. 20, age 19, Daughter of early Mormon leader Cornelius P. Lott, who managed Smith's farm in Nauvoo. (1)

Joseph Smith marriage to Olive Grey Frost Summer age 27, (24 July 1816 in Bethel, Maine - 6 October 1845 in Nauvoo, Illinois) After Smith's death, Frost would remarry, becoming the eighteenth plural wife of Brigham Young. They married in 1844 , and she bore him no children. (1)

Joseph Smith marriage to Rhoda Richards Jun. 12, age 58, (8 August 1784 in Framingham, Massachusetts - 17 January 1879 in Salt Lake City, Utah) 1st cousin of Brigham Young whom she married after Smith's death. (1)

[Relief Society] From its beginning with twenty members the society grew rapidly. Within six months more than a thousand women of the 12,000 total population had voluntarily enrolled. Meeting only during summer, the Nauvoo society declined in activity in 1843. (2)

[Temple] Eternal marriage (sealings) and the second anointing are instituted.

Women receive the endowment for the first time. (3)

Wilford Woodruff: Mission to eastern states to collect funds for construction of Nauvoo House and Temple 7 July-November 1843. (4)

[William Clayton] He recorded the famous revelation on plural marriage as it was dictated by Joseph Smith in 1843, and after he accepted the principle he ultimately married nine additional wives (although three left him). Clayton was responsible for keeping many of the important church records in Nauvoo, including those that were considered the most private and sacred. He was also recorder and clerk of the Nauvoo City Council, secretary pro tem of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge, an officer in the Nauvoo Music Association, a member of the influential Council of Fifty, and a member of Joseph Smith's private prayer circle where the LDS temple ceremonies were first introduced. He later helped prepare Joseph Smith's official history, and Clayton's personal journals became the source for many entries in that history. (5)
