Mormon History, Jan 15, 1846

[Hosea Stout Diary] Thursday Jany 15th 1846. This morning I came to the Temple before day and found all wellI remained there till 8 oclock and met the guard as beforewe rode down the river and wattered our horses as we had previously done and then returned to the Masonic Hall and dismissed the guard after had made arraingements for the day.After which I met with the Company which had assembled at ten.
We had a meeting of the captains of tens last night at the Hall and they were instructed [to] notify their companies to meet as aforesaid for the purpose of ascertaing their situation and readiness to emigrate to the West immediately.There was a large assemblage after I had made the necessary arraingements I went Home.Hunter was with me & took dinner.While eating dinner two of the guard came & informed us that there were Strangers in the city so we immediately went to the Temple but nothing of importance transpired till the guard met at threewe rode East & came in on Parly Street regulated the guard & police and I Stopped at home & put on an under garment for the first time to wear it& then met the Lodge at six it was a Regular Communication then went to the Temple & Staid all night
