Joseph said The reason why the Jews were scattered and their House left unto them Desolate was because they refused to be gathered that the fullness of the Priesthood might be revealed among them which never can be done but by the gathering of the People also also The Order & Ordinances of the Kingdom were instituted by the Priesthood in the council of Heaven before the World was The words Prison Paradise & Hell are different translations of the Greek Hades which answers to the Hebrew Shaole the true translation of which is "The world of spirits where the righteous & the wicked dwell together. attended Meeting at the Temple weather very fine moderately warm. heard J. Smith preach from Math [Matthew] "Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem &c, how oft would I have gathered you, as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings & Ye would not, behold your house is left unto you desolate &c

President Joseph Smith bore testimony to the same saying that when he was a youth he began to think about these things but could not find out which of all the sects were right he went into the grove & enquired of the Lord which of all the sects were right he received for answer that none of them were right, that they were all wrong, & that the Everlasting Covenant was broken==he said he understood the fullness of the Gospel from beginning to end--& could Teach it & also the order of the priesthood in all its ramifications ==Earth & hell had opposed him & tried to destroy him, but they had not done it==& they never would. [William Clayton Journal] Â…Margaret received a letter from Aaron [Farr] which made her feel bad. It also gave me unaccountable sorrow. (2)

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] 12th I spent the day at my house. (3)

Joseph Smith approves a decision two days previously by a "court martial" "That an arsenal be built in the city of Nauvoo, to be located in any part of the city where the lieutenant and major generals may direct, who are also authorized to make or cause to be made, a draft of the same, and also to purchase any piece of land for the aforesaid purposes which they may deem proper." Joseph Smith takes Rhoda Richards as a plural wife. (4)

[Joseph Smith Diary] Monday, June 12th 1843 At the office in the A.M. P.M. called at the office for a warrant for Catherine Mulliner vs John Edger. Did not obtain it. <[Joseph Smith] married to Rhoda Richards and Willard Richards married to Susan[nah Lee] Liptrot>

That is about 40 Saints arrived from Peterboro, New Hampshire, among whom was Father Coles who had been absent on a mission. (6)

[Joseph Smith] State officials in league with a Missouri sheriff and an Illinois constable conspire to arrest the Prophet at the home of his wife's relatives in Dixon Township, Illinois, intending to whisk him away to Missouri; his friends foil the plan, and the Prophet wins release in the courts. (8)

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] 13th I started in company with several others to go out on the prairie to fence & plant a five acre lot of prairie. I had not Got far befor we broke down the reach of our waggon and all went into a pile together. The wheel went onto my arm & bruised it considerable but we mended up & continued our Journey. Went on to the prairie & made 82 rods of worm fence with stakes & riders & Just before I left I went into Br Cheney house to get a drink of water & his dog bit me through the calf of my leg vary bad. He was an ugly dog. Had bitten several persons. It made me vary lame. (3)

[Joseph Smith] Joseph, Emma, and their four children leave Nauvoo on a much-needed vacation. They begin traveling toward the home of Emma's sister, Mrs. Wasson, who lives near Dixon, Lee County, over 200 miles north of Nauvoo. (10)
