10 A M attended at the grove near the Temple--a large assembly listened to Eld O Hyde--followed by J. Smith a few minutes. [Wilford Woodruff Diary] (1)

[William Clayton Journal] Today we had a meeting in the groveÂ…in the evening President Joseph related a history of the Missouri persecutions and the late arrest in the presence of about 900 passengers and a very large multitude of saints. (2)

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] July 5th My masons got together to commence laying Brick on my house. But our door & window frames not being made part of them went home but some staid but performed but little work. (3)

[Joseph Smith Diary] July 5th 1843, Wednesday Hyrum continued his affidavit till near sunset when Joseph came in /and Mr. Walker read it/. Levie [Levi Richards] wrote Geo[rge] Pitkins' testimony.

Closed special conference at 11 A.M. commencing at 8 [A.M. ]. Minutes printed in the [Nauvoo] Neighbor. Judge Adams and Esqu[ire] Southwick returned from Warsaw. [They] found but little excitment. Esq[ui]r[e] [Southwick] wrote a piece for Warsaw paper. (4)

"Beloved Sister: I lay my hands upon thy head in the name of Jesus Christ and by authority of the holy priesthood I pronounce the Blessings of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob inasmuch as thou hast obeyed the call of Heaven in the Ordinance of Baptism for the remission of sins and therby entered the new and everlasting Covenant. Thou art adopted into the family of God and become an heir unto all the blessings of the covenant and all the precious promises of the gospel are secured unto thee by the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and principle of new life has been imparted which shall be in thy son as a well of water springing up unto everlasting life, and as thou hast given him thy heart in the days of thy youth he will give himself unto thee and in Blessing he will bless thee all thy days. His comfort shall delight thy soul as a kind Father he will richly provide for thee an inheritance that will not fade away. He will give the[e] wisdom in all things pertaining unto life and
Godliness and Direct thee--(especially) in the choice of a partner who shall be affectionate and kind, whose chief study shall be to discharge, (with unceasing assiduity) all the Relative Duties of an holy compact. Like Zacariah and Elizabeth you shall walk in all the comandments of the Lord, blameless, thou shalt be as a tree planted by the River side who's leaf doth not fade and whose fruit is in season. Thou shalt see heavenly visions and angels minister unto thee and guard thy path and thy Bed. Thou shalt be gathered unto Zion and have land, Corn and wine and oil, flocks and heards, Vineyards and Olive yards and worship the Lord in his holy Temple and see signs and wonders. And Zion the Church of the first born and sit down with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Kingdom of God and see the Messiah come in his glory and reign with him the the [sic] glorious Mellennium with all the seed of faithful Abraham. I seal these blessings upon thy head in the name of Jesus Christ. Am

[Anointed Quorum] Thursday, but no specific reference to prayer meeting (MAQ). (6)

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] 6th I had an interview with Br Fidoe who has taken the job of Building my house. He informed [me] the fraims were not yet made & thought it best to dismiss the masons for a season. We did so & I prepaired myself in the afternoon to start on my mission for the east next morning. Got my trunk & things ready &c & sent them up to A Morrisons landing &c. (3)

Gov. Ford writes to Joseph H. Reynolds that he should not make any attempts to rearrest Joseph Smith until Ford's representative in Nauvoo can report on the rumors of a Mormon military force in Nauvoo. (7)

[Joseph Smith Diary] July 6th, Thursday Hyrum finished his affidavit. B[righam] Young wrote his pie[ce]. [At] Walker['s request] Geo[rge] Pitkins rewrote [his account]. (4)

[Anointed Quorum] Again, listed in MAQ without a specific reference to prayer meeting. (6)

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] + July 7th I Arose early in the morning laid hands upon Mrs Woodruff & Blessed her & our daughter Sarah Emma Phebe Amelia & went to Morrison landing & spent most of the day at Br L Wights. But at 3 o-clock P.M we left A Morrisons wharf on Board of steem Boat Rapids in company with Elders B. Young G. A Smith, E P Magin & his Sister. It is a plesent day & we are all in good spirit. Fare to St Louis is $2.50. We arived in Warsaw in two hours & a half & at Quincy in five & three quarters of an hour. Sister Magin stoped at Quincy. (3)
