[Lucy Mack Smith] Lucy becomes ill "with inflammation of the lungs" and Joseph nurses her himself for the next three days. (1)

[Apostle Wilford Woodruff Journal] 26 I spent the time at home writing. (2)
Nauvoo, Illinois. Joseph Smith stayed at home all day nursing his mother, who was sick with inflammation of the lungs. (3)
[Joseph Smith Diary] Sunday, February 26th [Joseph was] At home with his Mother who was [sick] with an affection [infection] of the Lungs. Nursing [his mother] with his own hands. [Oliver] Olney carried to Carthage. (4)

[Joseph Smith Diary] Monday, February 27th 1843 In house. Mostly with his mother who was sick. Come in the office and signed a writ or search warrant for Bro[ther] Dixon to search Fidlers and John Eagles house for a box of shoes. (4)

[Joseph Smith Diary] Tuesday, February 28th Mostly with his mother and family. Mr. John Brassfield who helped Joseph to escape from the Missourians came and spent the day and night. P.M. Mother [Smith] rather easier. To Elder Hydes to dinner at 4 o'clock P.M. [blank]
Notice in Chicago Express that Wm /Hiram/ Redding had seen sign of the son of man. Wrote Editor of Times and Seasons for no. 8 vol. 4 that Reding had not seen the sign of the son of man and he would not come in [18]43 &c. See Times and Seasons.
