[Gause, Jesse] Traveled to Independence, Missouri, with Joseph Smith and others April 1832. (1)

[Heber C. Kimball] Joins Church of Christ (Mormon). (2)

[Kimball, Heber Chase] Baptized April 1832 by Alpheus Gifford; ordained elder shortly thereafter. (1)

[Higbee, Elias] Baptized in spring of 1832. (1)

-- May 1, 1832
At a Council held at Independence, it was decided to publish the Book of Doctrine and Covenants. (3)

[Lucy Mack Smith] A council at Independence authorizes W. W. Phelps to publish 3,000 copies of the Book of Commandments and Emma's hymnal. (4)

-- May 6, 1832
Joseph, Sidney, and Newel K. Whitney leave Independence for Kirtland by stage. (5)

[Joseph Smith] Independence, Missouri. Joseph Smith traveled by stage to St. Louis, Missouri, on a trip to Kirtland, Ohio. (6)

[Joseph Smith] Joseph leaves Missouri to return to Kirtland. (7)

[Whitney, Newel Kimball] Left for Ohio 6 May 1832. Detained four weeks in Indiana after breaking leg. (1)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph, Sidney Rigdon, and Newel K. Whitney take the stage from Independence. When Whitney's leg is broken, Joseph stays with him in Greenville, Indiana, for four weeks. (4)

-- May 9, 1832
[Joseph Smith] Church members in various branches condemn the vision of three heavenly degrees as devilish because of its universalist rejection of heaven and hell. Brigham Young (hereafter Young) is among those who initially doubt the vision. Missionaries in the U.S. excommunicate these disbelievers for the next two years. This occurs again in England (1837-39) when new converts learn of the "Three Degrees of Glory" doctrine, later published by the LDS church as Doctrine and Covenants, section 76. (8)

Reynolds Cahoon moves Phebe Rigdon into his house. (5)
