[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 78, a revelation on caring for the poor, and Doctrine & Covenants 79 and Doctrine & Covenants 80, revelations extending callings to individuals. (1)

-- 24-Mar 25, 1832
[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph Jr. is tarred by a dozen men who break his tooth and John Johnson Sr.'s collar bone. Sidney Rigdon is beaten, dragged outside, and left in the cold. He is concussed and delirious. (2)

Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon beaten, tarred, feathered by mob, Hiram, OH. (3)

Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon beaten and tarred and feathered at John Johnson Farm in Hiram, Ohio. (4)

[Joseph Smith] Due to rumors of inappropriate behavior with Nancy Johnson, her brothers and their cohorts mr and feather Joseph Smith and Rigdon and nearly castrate Smith. This is the first time an apostate, Symonds Rider, joins with non-Mormons in attacking Mormons. (7)

[Joseph Smith] Joseph is taken from his home and attacked by a mob. (8)

[U.S. Religious History] Mormon leader Joseph Smith was beaten, tarred and feathered in Ohio. (9)

Joseph and Sidney are dragged from bed, beaten, tarred, and feathered. 1832 Tarring (10)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. Joseph Smith preached at a Sabbath meeting the day after he had been tarred and feathered. He also baptized three people that afternoon. (1)

-- Before Mar 27, 1832
Sidney Rigdon preached that the "keys of the Kingdom were taken from us," and was rumored that he was going to expose Mormonism. Hyrum Smith disputed Rigdon's claim and says the keys were not lost. Joseph Smith rebuked Sidney Rigdon. Rigdon was reportedly flung about a room by an unseen force and laid up for five or six weeks [per Philo Dibble]. (11)
