[Lucy Mack Smith] Joseph reaches Kirtland; he spends most of the summer at Hiram translating the Bible, completing the New Testament in July. (4)

Conference (Zion): resolves to implement "the mode and manner of regulating the Church of Christ from this time, according to a Revelation received in Hiram, Portage County, Ohio, Nov 11, 1831."

[Knight, Newel] Ordained high priest before 3 July 1832. (5)

Sidney claims "that he had a revelation from the Lord & said that the kingdo<m> was taken from <the> Church and left with him." Joseph wrote that when he learned of the rebellious spirit in Zion he became "frantick" and "the advisary" took "the advantage" so that "he spake unadvisedly with his lips." Lucy recalls Sidney declared "the keys of the kingdom are [DEL: re :DEL] <wrent> from [DEL: this :DEL] <you> and you never will have them again untill you build me a new house."

[Joseph Smith] Second counselor Rigdon tries to seize control of the church and is disfellowshipped until 28 July when he is re-ordained a high priest. This is the first instance of apostasy by a general authority. (7)

[Lucy Mack Smith] Sidney Rigdon claims that the "keys of the kingdom" have departed unless the Saints build him a house. Joseph explains that he holds the keys irrevocably, and a court delivers Sidney to the buffetings of Satan. Lucy places this event about three months too early. (4)

Joseph writes that "after receiving a severe chastisement [Sidney] resigned his commission and became a private member in the church." is disfellowshipped or resigns his commission, depending on the source. According to Hyrum, on July 28 "Brother Sidney was ordaind to the high priesthood for the second time." Joseph to W. W. Phelps, July 31, 1832 (6)

Special conference in Zion divides the Missouri church into four branches. (6)
