[Brigham] Young, [Willard] Richards, [Orson] Pratt, [Wilford] Woodruff, [Amasa] Lyman, [Ezra T.] Benson, [George A.] Smith, [blank] W[illia]m. I. Appleby, Marshall Eldridge, Erastus Snow, T[homas]. B[ullock]., & R[eynolds]. C[ahoon].
Letter from Willard Snow, Salt Lake, to Erastus Snow, read, Capt[ai]n. Stout came in, [and] bro Benson stated that his expressions of yesterday about a Gentile, /Long/ in the Council, have been told [to] him-[A]lso that Capt[ai]n. Stout understood that it was bro. Phinehas Young that told it out-
W. Richards got righteously angry at the principle of carrying news out of Councils. [blank]
Phinehas Young came in-
E. T Benson stated it, when all present-
P. Young said he told nothing but what was laudable & right out of the Council.-
Bro. Stout[: I]f he wants to keep peace with his God [he] had not better say what he does say-I meant to know what Longs bus[iness]: was-[H]e is a Deserter from the U.S. service, for an act of imprudence.
B. Young[:] It s no difference, suffice it to say, he is afraid of being in the U.S. O. Pratt[:] He may be a deserter, or he may be on o[the]r. business-
Short conversation about W[illia]m. Smith & his doings-[A]lso ab[ou]t. Milo Andrus & his trial. [T]he alterations in the Epistle [were] read by T. B. and approved-
H[eber]. C. Kimball came in-
[B]ro Appleby stated the case of Sister Sarah Bidelor who was seald to Lyman Wight-[A] bro Gibson wants her, if he is not handling with edge tools, [and] she does not, nor ever did want Lyman-
W Richards[:] "I move that she have /has/ the liberty to marry whom she will." [W]ithdrawn.
G. A. Smith[:] "I move that that /the/ ceremony is not considered binding by the Council." W. Richards second ["]I move that the Ceremony of sealing Sarah Badeler /Beidler/ to Lyman Wight by William Smith in Philadelphia is not binding on her." W Richards seconded. Carried.
G. A. Smith then gave Mr. Dodd s "Malt" Sermon.
W. Richards[:] "I move that fellowship be withdrawn from Dr. Samuel Parker for misconduct." A Lyman seconded [and] carried.
A. Lyman stated about Pegleg Smith & Joseph Smith while in Prison at Liberty-
G. A. Smith Instruct Rob[er]t. Campbell to write a short letter to the Presidency in L[iver]pool. 1 P.M. Council adjourned until evening-
