[Nauvoo Temple] The Burlington Hawkeye reported that the Church intended to rent the temple to any responsible society. It also reported the Saints continued to work on completing the building; they were going to furnish the Temple with carpet and intended to have a bell.
The Cincinnati Commercial reported that Babbitt was in the city, meeting with Bishop Purcell concerning the lease or sale of the temple to the Catholic Church.
